J’Lyn Coppola (nee Wimple) landed in the Capital Region of New York in 2001, after hopping halfway across the country on a pogo stick, and staying here. She was born in Texas and resided in Lubbock, the home of Buddy Holly, until her family moved to western Pennsylvania, where she learned the joy of sledding down really big hills while dodging the trunks of baby Christmas trees (with minor success).
After graduating from Syracuse University, Coppola relocated to Saratoga Springs and ended up working for the Recorder, a small daily newspaper in Amsterdam. She was most recently employed as the publication’s managing editor. After facing an unexpected layoff, she is working through some stress by keeping herself knee-deep in art projects in her home studio while seeking full-time employment. Want some art? Need something written? Want to hire a freelance editor?
Coppola’s other passions include anything that evokes laughter and finding items to add to her many collections, which consist of mass quantities of things other people didn’t want.
Coppola has been spotted on stage singing at the top of her lungs in various area establishments and with various musical acts. If you get in touch she’ll probably sing to you, or with you. She is the lead singer of Out of the Blue, a group that can be classified as a funky rock, Motown, R&B, soul and blues band. You can check out the band by clicking here.

Hey! You’re jammin’ in Ballston Spa Saturday night! Far out! If I’m not too tired, maybe I’ll try to make it for part of a set.
Think Kevin will be there?
Maybe I’ll finally have a chance to meet Jim!
